Mediocre radio, (What's this?) I liked this clock radio for the week I had it before it stopped working. The sound was good, and I loved having 5 radio presets. On the con side, the display was too bright, and the voice control was quirky.
Clock reveiw, (What's this?) I've bought 2 of these and have carried them with me back to India.
We have used only one unit so far and the same keeps hanging every alternate day.
the only way to make it work again is by removing power and battery both and resetting it.
Very bad Buy.
POS, (What's this?) This thing was a total POS. It just resets its self to a random time after 12 hours of use. Also none of the buttons work after those 12 hours so you can't change it back. What a failboat of an alarm clock.
At a low price point is a pretty good device if you know what to expect, It's worth buying only at the low price it's recenly been offered at.
Allows MP3 line in - but volume is too quiet and clips if you turn your mp3 player up too much
2 full range speakers are good - but not stereo and don't have enough high range. Or I am going deaf.
Voice command is bad and gets in the way but can be turned off - though if you press SNOOZE for too short a time, you get a loud voice saying WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU.
FM tuner is better than on my better brand clock radios and is separate from power wire.
AC adapter is plug in, like on most computer equipment these days, not like on most clock radios. It thus runs on 9v dc.
I find the various brightnesses of the LCD screen all wrong - very bright, too bright, off. Give me LED again like in the 1980s.
Power button requires a second or two to respond - it's trying hard to be an input selector too. Case is solid though buttons are not responsive.
In short it's a picture of contemporary design and manufacturing of a store brand product made in China or east Asia. Give companies like Insignia a few more years and they'll probably have a very good product. For now, Sony and the name brands are learning how to manufacturer cheaply but design for user experience better.
Buy if for what lunch at work costs or less...
Always would freeze up, Purchased this item in December 2010; every few days it would freeze up and have to be unplugged and plugged in again. This happened repeatedly, took back to Best Buy for store credit. I wouldn't mess with it.
Terrible product, Didn't work from the beginning, it would freeze up when you turned on the radio and you have to unplug and replug in the clock to get it working again. Then after about a month the unit totally died, wouldn't turn on at all.
Battery backup.Dual wake up modes.Digital AM/FM tuner with 5 presets each.Voice commands.Snooze function..
